I think this is a good example of the gray with slight hues that we talked about in class, at first glance I didn't even pick out the hues in some of the figures in the middle. It's so subtle and yet it does make the figures really stand out from the background. The use of value also serves to create a point of focus, as the really strong white patch draws the viewer's eyes to the middle of the image.
