This drawing by Vija Celmins is done on flat paper, yet the drawing "popped" in 3D. If a viewer walked around at night seeing this drawing would think it is a real spider web. The beauty of the piece is the ability of the author to use values to create a spacial orientation that fools the eyes into thinking it has a volume.
