Hiroshi Sugimoto photographed this costume from the Collection of the Kyoto Costume Institue. This image is a good example of value; the white mannequin clothed in the black see through garment with all the different segments creates a lot of different shades of light and dark. I like how strongly the fingertips and feet contrast against the very dark background. I also like how you can see the white form of the figure through the sheer black fabric.

Stylized Sculputre
