This work is called "Strata" and the substance in the image is Elmer's Glue. I enjoy this piece of art work, and all of the other Tara Donovon works I viewed, because she uses everyday materials. I chose the image of "Strata" because the the layers of glue and the different sizes and shapes of the glue drops allow the viewer to see the different levels of opaque through the layers of glue. The contours of each piece of glue, give each angle a different view. I like how the light reflects off the white, shiny, and bubbly surface of the glue. I also chose this piece because it reminds me of when I was a kid and used to play with glue; this image brings up good memories and makes me happy.
