In this image by Ana Mendieta, the artist has covered herself in plants and sat amongst similar sparse vegetation in a dirty, rocky environment. She attempts to make her body blend in with the natural surroundings, as she does in this entire series of pieces where she covers her body in various natural materials and makeup to become more of a part of the scenery. I think that it's really interesting how she manages to point out the human connection to nature by making her body look like something it's not.
