In 2006, Jenny Holzer created this work here in Providence, in which she creates public art by projecting words onto a building. The artist is most famous for the short phrases she employs in her work, called “truisms.” I find the work of Holzer so intriguing because of its massive scale and its ability to reach and influence such a wide audience. She utilizes variety of fascinating media to share ideas that are of importance to her. By projecting the words on such a large building, passersby are forced to take notice and to be impacted by the work.
