The human scale of reference is very important in this work because the viewer can actually walk along the path to the stone circle and experience the artwork from within. "Peace Chapel" also plays with proportion; from the second hill the stone circle, which feels so massive when the viewer stands in it, looks far away and much smaller. I enjoy this type of artwork which forces the viewer to experience it through the motion of the viewer's own body through the work. It also looks as peaceful and contemplative as the title suggests.
