Mel Chin is a conceptual visual artist, making public displays that examine elements and questions of modern life. After finding success in galleries and museums, Chin found a new focus in using art for social activism. His work to develop "ecological art" included this piece entitled "Revival Field" (1990). Chin makes clear the connection between his art and his goal, or the meaning behind his work. I think the idea of bringing science and art together is incredibly valuable.
