Pink Telephone (group shot), 2005, glazed vitreous china
Shannon Goff's work in sculpture and ceramics takes everyday objects and shapes, functions and ideas, and creates something new by slightly distorting them and changing the representation. In this piece she uses repetition and a varied color scheme to portray a telephone that appears extraordinary. Goff says: “My work seesaws between complexities and freedoms, two steps Mr. Ordinary with Ma'am Extraordinary, doe-see-does familiar and foreign.”
