eva hesse

This Eva Hesse piece caught my eye because of the multitude of things in nature that it reminded me of. The piece reminds me of something that could grow inside the body, I can imagine a slick or slimy texture. It reminds me of seaweed as well. I like the emotion that the piece gives me, it is almost as if im looking at something private, something sexual. I also like that the piece has little context so that its meaning is up for interpretation. Its simple hanging allows for natural gravitational movement, the insides are only loosely contained by the surrounding sack.
