These are images from Mel Chin's 'Fundred Dollor Bill Project' which is a collective performance art piece. Mel Chin extended an invitation to student across the nation to complete a "fundred" dollar bill using their own artistic talents. The bills are then collected by a armoured car that runs of vegitable oil to the national reserve where the art is exchanged for actual funds or services to be used in the rebuilding of New Orleans. This performance piece by Chin is definitely a social consciousness project due to its goal for the betterment of and fundraising for Katrina victims and residents of New Orleans. By making this a collaborative piece Chin allows the perspectives of the audience to influence the work by giving artistic liscence and voice to the individual bills.
