Maya Lin is a contemporary artists, architect, and sculptor. This public exhibition — titled "wavefield" — plays with the use of artificial texture in a natural environment. I particularly like her juxtaposition of the concept of waves with the visual reality of a grass field. Waves, normally found peacefully in large bodies of water, suggest instability in this setting — almost as if the ground were moving seismically.
