This work of kinetic art by Muybridge is striking because it carries the eye forward and tricks the eye into believing that the work is in fact in motion. He was greatly venerated as a photographer and was even referred to as, 'the man who stopped time' and credited with stunning the world by photographing the horse in such a way that it appeared that it was flying through the air.
