Pat Keck- "Spinning Dizzy Man"
This mechanical sculpture by Pat Keck represents a literal depiction of motion in art. The abstracted and simplified human figure stands on mechanical plate attached to a motor. The whole composition is reminiscent of a children's spinning toy. However, this doll-like quality of the man also suggests a loss of human agency- the man is automatically forced to spin. I find this sculpture evocative and playful.
