I chose this piece, "Mended Spiderweb #8" by Nina Katchadourian because I feel it demonstrates a unique use of line. Here, the artist comments on the similarities between art and nature by integrating the obviously "man-made" design (the bright red pattern) with a real spider web and seems to ask her audience to contemplate which is the "real" art. I like the way she manipulates line and color in this work - using line to mimic a design found in nature (a spider web) and using color (the bright red) to draw attention to her contribution to the design.
