This piece, composed of photographs taken by Bernrd and Hilla Bercher, provides a comparison and a contrast between different types of water towers through the proximity of the subjects. Visual unity is achieved through the similar water tower structures. As we learned this week, the varied repetition in this piece is what makes it visually interesting. I think that this is a successful piece because it catches the viewer’s eye as he or she makes the comparison between each water tower.
