Dark Stuff

Dark Stuff by Tim Noble and Sue Webster
I realize Tim Noble and Sue Webster have already been done, but they're pretty awesome, so I'm gonna post about them as well. The faces are made of pretty disgusting stuff: bones and string, all brown and black. It's apropos that the shadows are so gruesome. The weird thing is that the actual sculpture looks crappy, but the shadow looks so good. There's a disconnect between the 3D and its 2D projection that a picture does not do justice to. Negative space is more complicated in sculpture than in wall art, because different angles create different contours.
