Eva Hesse, No Title, 1966

This piece by and "Organic Shape Artist", Eva Hesse, from 1966 intriguingly grabs the viewers attention in a few different ways. First, her use of the circle shape in two different sizes creates unity within the piece. As you look deeper, too, each circle itself is created by layers of circles, like a tree trunk. In contrast, she uses a grid format of long rectangles to emphasize the circular patterns even more. Personally, I really like this composition because of its various forms of unity that come together to create a more peaceful feeling from looking at the piece.
