This print by Spero is an example of successful harmonization of organic shapes. The organic motion of the female forms is drawn into an overall unity through the contrasting geometric grid and the repetition of forms. At another level, this work represents an interesting commentary on the female form. Spero depicts historical representations of women in the figures drawn from Egyptian tomb art. At the same time, Spero reinterprets these depictions and draws female agency into consideration as a female artist depicting female subjects. I view this as a much more playful depiction of women than that seen in some of Spero's other works; however, it still invokes a political message by reformulating past meanings.
