Organic: Eva Hesse

Eva Hesse here creates a nonobjective piece using wavering lines of varying thicknesses. While few defined shapes are created, many can be inferred from the negative space between the lines. The simplicity in colour and the strength of many lines (in particular those in black) emphasizes this negative space. The shapes appear somewhat frantic due to the shaky quality of the lines.
