Organic Shape Artist: Eva Hesse

This drawing by Eva Hesse (which is untitled) is interesting to me because or its mutability. At first glance, one immediately sense the organic nature of the figure. Then, as one looks at it for longer and longer, one begins to see more an more figures within the whole. The end product is a complex drawing that almost seems to morph with the time it is observed--it remains unified as a whole, but is also intriguing in its parts.
