Rachel Whiteread named her Holocaust Monument "Nameless Library". It is a concrete room full of books with the pages turned outward instead of the spines. This is thought to be because Jews were referred to as "people of the book" and because of book burning during World War II. Whiteread's works often have a tone suggesting death or absence, and this work of art is both a solemn and beautiful monument to the victims of the war.
