This installation work by Janine Antoni is called "Moor" made in 2001. The work is composed of a large variety of materials, many donated, weaved and twisted among themselves to create a rope. The materials range from personal items of the deceased, Christmas lights, flowers, hair, and so on. This work demonstrates conceptual unity because the significance of the whole (the rope) stands as a unifying feature over the meanings of the individual materials. In addition the work is literally unified in the actual weaving together of the varied materials.
